Guildmaster Award

The Guildmaster Award is GuildQuality’s annual distinction that celebrates service excellence within our network of builders, remodelers, and home service professionals.

This award is open to all active GuildQuality members who:

  • have received 20 or more survey responses
  • have a ‘Likely to Recommend’ rate of 90% or greater
  • meet at least one of the following criteria for response rate:
    • A minimum 50% response rate
    • Upload survey data for 12 consecutive weeks within the qualification year (the best way to do this is by integrating with GuildQuality!)

Although we start analyzing data for the award in Q4 of each year, we look at customer feedback and survey responses from the entire year. For example, the data analysis process for the 2024 Guildmaster Award begins in November of 2023 and ends in Q2 of 2024, but we look at survey data sent between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023 to determine the members who qualify for the award.

Questions about the criteria for the award? Here’s some helpful information:

GuildQuality activity status

To be eligible for the Guildmaster award, your company must be in good standing between the qualification start date and the data review end date.

If your GuildQuality membership has lapsed, you may continue to promote your company’s status as a past Guildmaster Award winner, but the website badge won’t render correctly and your profile will not be promoted on the GuildQuality website.

Guildmaster Award application

We no longer require a formal application for the Guildmaster Award, but to be eligible, you must verify that you survey all of your customers. This verification step is done from your GuildQuality dashboard.

If you don’t complete this verification step and do not submit a complete and unabridged list of your customers to us by the end of the current year, your company will not be considered for the award.

Levels of distinction

To encourage our members to go above and beyond, GuildQuality offers two levels of distinction above the standard Guildmaster Award. Members who receive a customer recommendation rate of 95% to 97.9% are designated Guildmaster with Distinction. Members who receive a customer recommendation rate of 98% to 100% are awarded Guildmaster with Highest Distinction.

Customers omitted from surveying

You may exclude a specific customer from surveying and still be eligible for the Guildmaster Award only if you provide GuildQuality with the omitted customer’s project information. In these cases, we record a score of 1 for ‘Likely to Recommend’ on behalf of the omitted customer.

Disqualification

It is your responsibility to provide GuildQuality with an unabridged customer list for surveying. If we determine that a GuildQuality member and Guildmaster candidate has purposefully omitted a customer from the surveying process (excluding valid exceptions), GuildQuality may, at our sole discretion, disqualify the award candidate, make the member ineligible for future awards, and/or cancel their membership entirely.

Exceptions

Although GuildQuality requires members to survey all of their customers, there are occasional exceptions to this rule. Here are some common examples:

  • A member who surveys only retail customers, not those from insurance claims
  • A member who surveys only their full installation jobs, not repairs
  • A member who surveys only jobs greater than $5,000.

If you have an exception like this, you must disclose that information at the beginning of the award qualification process. We reserve the right to reject submitted exceptions. If we can’t accept your submitted exceptions, we will reach out to you and let you know.

Have an exception but aren’t quite sure if it’s valid for Guildmaster Award qualification? Let’s talk! Reach out to your Member Success Representative to learn more.

Guildmaster Award announcement

Once you confirm that your company surveys all customers (and your submitted list of exceptions, if applicable, is accepted), we will review your survey activity and customer feedback to determine whether or not your company qualifies for the award.

The qualification process typically begins in January of the award year and ends at the close of the first quarter. Winners are announced in Q2 of the award year.
