Cleaning Up Filter Values

Default and Custom filters allow you to view reports in a variety of ways to help you dissect feedback for teams, product types, lead sources, etc. It can be valuable to track performance on specific filters to see where you might need to focus more energy. However, over time you may notice that some filters have duplicate values, misspellings, or a member of your team is no longer with the company, and your filter lists need to be maintained.

Follow the steps below to ensure proper reporting results on your custom filters.

Clean Up Misspelled Filters in Filter Admin

If the issue is simply that your filter is misspelled and not duplicated, follow the quick-fix below:

  1. Hover over your Customers tab in the top menu and select Filter Admin.
  2. Click the drop down arrow to the left of your filter to reveal the values within.
  3. Hover over your incorrect value(s) and select “Rename”.
  4. Correct the errors and click “Save”.

Reassign Customers to the Correct Filter

First we need to determine which customers are assigned to the wrong filters before deleting them from the list. Deleting the filter before reassigning will create a “None Listed” filter, which is trickier to fix. Follow the steps below to move all customers to the correct filters.

  1. Visit your Customers tab in the top menu and select Surveys.
  2. On the right hand side will be your Filter Options. Click inside the box to of the filter you wish to clean up. Pro Tip: clear the date range to look at results for all time.
  3. From the drop down that appears, select the INCORRECT filter(s) that you want to update. Pro Tip: It is easiest to do them one value grouping at a time.
  4. Click the orange “Filter Surveys” button. Your customers who are assigned to the selected incorrect filter will now be listed.
  5. Click on a customer’s name from the list to view their Homeowner Profile.
  6. Click the “Edit” button on the box called “Project Filters” to activate your Default and Custom Filter fields.
  7. Assign the correct value to the desired field(s), and click “Save”.
  8. Continue steps 1-8 until all customers are updated then proceed to the next section below. Pro Tip: You can use your browser’s “Back” button to return to step 5. Hitting Customers > Surveys again will make you repeat steps 1-7 

Clean Up Duplicate Filters in Filter Admin

IMPORTANT NOTE: It takes the system 24 hours for the numbers on this page to update. If on step 4 above, no customers appear in the filtered list, you are clear to move on below.

Once your customers have all been reassigned to the correct filter(s) you wish to keep, you can delete the ones you don’t need by following the below steps:

  1. Hover over Customers in the top menu and select Filter Admin.
  2. Click the drop down arrow to the left of your filter to reveal the values within.
  3. Hover over your incorrect names and select “Delete”.
